Anxiety, Enlightenment, Curiosity

“Reflecting on how the pandemic affected me is proving to be more difficult than expected. The first few months were terrifying and brought with it an enormous amount of anxiety, enlightenment, and curiosity. I was able to help care for ICU patients, in the trenches, for a very brief time during the first wave in New Orleans. That proved to me that I made a sound decision in advancing to become a nurse practitioner. As the months passed, I questioned whether medical was the field for me anymore. My mentor, Cindy, helped keep me sane.

“Personally, COVID has hindered my travel bug but only a small amount. Life has proven to keep on rolling regardless of a pandemic. My little brother joined the Coast Guard and I met a pretty great guy. All and all, COVID or high water, life is good.”
