Soledad O’Brien: Champion of Children

PowHERful is thrilled to announce that Soledad O’Brien has been named Foundation, Inc.’s 2023 Champion of Children. This prestigious award is presented each year by the national education organization to an individual demonstrating outstanding commitment to supporting our nation’s most vulnerable children and helping them achieve brighter futures through quality education. This goal is central to PowHERful’s focus as it continues to empower girls on their journey to and through college.

Previous Champion of Children honorees include legendary singer Dolly Parton, founder of Imagination Library; Super Bowl champion and literacy activist; Malcolm Mitchell, creator of Share the Magic Foundation; and former First Lady Barbara Bush, who established the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy. 

Soledad will be accepting the award at Foundation, Inc.’s 26th annual #BeyondSchoolHours (BSH) National Education Conference on February 10, 2023, in Orlando, FL. The ceremony will cap an exciting agenda of professional learning experiences for over 2,000 educators, thought leaders, and distinguished guests.
